New Faces at TLCC!

May 29, 2022

Our team of counselors continues to grow at Transforming Life Counseling Center, offering increased opportunities for our client referrals to be seen more quickly. As many may know, the field of counseling, in general, continues to be challenged to take on larger caseloads in an effort to keep up with the growing needs in our communities. TLCC is no different. We are pleased to bring quality therapists in to support this need. Our pre-licensed candidates and interns receive supervision by our therapists and can offer lower fees in an effort to support clients needing therapy at a lower cost.

Please meet Cindy Rose, Kayleigh Alameda, Riley Hancock, and David Martin. Their bios are below and online. For more information, our phone number is (405) 246-5433.

Cindy Rose, LPC Candidate

Cindy holds a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Southern Nazarene University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma. She has experience working with individuals experiencing grief, trauma and relationship issues by utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy.

Her counseling philosophy is based on assisting her clients with mindfulness skills for maintaining psychological flexibility. She has a passion for helping her clients live a more meaningful life through chosen values, positive self-acceptance and engagement in the present rather than ruminating about the past or projecting concerns for the future.

Cindy acknowledges that personal change can be challenging but believes with a commitment to healthier behaviors and flexible attention of thought processes, individuals can achieve a more resilient approach to life. She is honored and privileged to enter the therapeutic process with her clients and support them on their journey for positive life outcomes and healing.

Riley Hancock, Counseling Intern

Riley Hancock is a Counseling Intern. He is pursuing his bachelor’s in human services at The University of Central Oklahoma. He plans to graduate in December and enroll in UCO’s master’s in addictions counseling program.

Riley enjoys serving with the youth group at his church, where his wife, Caitlin, serves on the ministry team. His personal experience in recovery motivates him to assist people pursuing a different way of life. Riley has a passion for providing diverse treatment options for young men and others. He focuses on recovery from substance abuse and behavioral addictions and on healthy sexuality.

Kayleigh Alameda, Counseling Intern

Kayleigh Alameda is serving as a Counseling Intern while finishing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. She recently moved to Oklahoma with her husband, Shannon, while he is serving in the U.S Navy.

Kayleigh is passionate about helping people from all different backgrounds and wants to help individuals and their families deal with trauma, anxiety and other mental health concerns. She focuses on goal-oriented therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy and client-centered therapy, allowing for a collaborative relationship between counselor and client.

David Martin, Counseling Intern

David is a Counseling Intern while finishing his Master’s in Addictions Counseling at the University of Central Oklahoma. David has been in recovery from drug addiction and alcoholism since June 9, 2015.

Inspired by his own recovery journey, David returned to school so he can help others on their recovery journey. He has a passion for empowering people to improve their relationships and circumstances and find sobriety. David enjoys working with individuals, adolescents, groups and families struggling with substance use disorders.

He is originally from Edmond. David and his wife, Bre, welcomed their son, Owen, into the world in January. In his spare time, David enjoys tennis and hiking.
