Michelle Garrett, MS, LMFT

Michelle is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, both in the State of Oklahoma and California. Professional memberships include the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and OAMFT (Oklahoma Chapter), and American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). She has worked in both private practice and group counseling centers for over 23 years. She worked at TLCC for the first five years it was open, and helped to develop programs such as the Marriage Mentoring Program and Parent University, coordinating with local churches and schools to bring these programs into their communities.

Michelle has served on the Board of Directors for several local non-profits and has served as a mentor for parents who have children with trauma and/or disabilities. She is currently on the teaching staff for The Spero Project's S.H.A.R.P. Program. Teaching curriculum includes trauma, ptsd, and compassion fatigue. She also volunteers time to teach classes for Project 31's Breast Cancer support groups. Areas of interest include marriage and family therapy, helping clients recover from childhood trauma, sexual abuse, PTSD, depression and anxiety.

Michelle offers marriage, family and individual therapy, including work with children and adolescents. Her approach is best described as relational in focus, integrating theories that explore early learning in relationships, and past traumas, and the impact these things have neurologically and on current functioning in the different areas of people's lives. She is passionate about therapy, as well as integrating the Christian faith, in the hopes of creating an environment for deep healing in people's lives and relationships.
